Bahrain beat Oman 3-0 but are eliminated from Asian Men's Volleyball Championship on point ratio

Bahrain beat Oman 3-0 in the final group-stage round of the AVC Men's Volleyball Asian Championship in Fukuoka, but the win was not enough to send them to the quarterfinals. Bahrain caught India on wins, points and set ratio, yet lost on point ratio. India took the last quarterfinal spot as the second-best third-placed team in the pools. The set scores were 25-16, 25-19 and 25-23. Bahrain controlled reception, used their block well and scored 75 points in total while Oman finished with 58. Middle blocker Hasan Haider Mohamed recorded seven kill blocks and 11 points. Outside hitter Sayed Hashem Ali of Bahrain and Fallah Saleem Al-Aabed Mubarak Al Jaradi of Oman each scored 13 points. Bahrain's opposite Abdulla Ebrahim Moh'd added 10 points, while Oman's opposite Majid Abdallah Ali Al-Shibli scored 11. Bahrain used a power-oriented attack with strong support from the middle blockers. The system worked well against Oman, but the team lacked enough margin in the combined pool standings. The elimination shows how point-ratio tiebreakers can punish teams that lose sets by wide margins earlier in a tournament. The event is part of the qualification path for the LA 2028 Olympics and the 2027 World Championship. Bahrain left Fukuoka despite a strong closing win. India advanced and will play in the quarterfinals.
